The Gemini Credit Card is a Mastercard issued by WebBank that pays rewards in crypto: 4% on gas, EV charging and transit up to $300 of spend a month, 3% on dining, 2% on groceries and 1% on everything else. It has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee. The purchase APR runs from 16.74% to 34.74%, set by creditworthiness, and the cardholder agreement forbids using the card to buy crypto.
This review reads three documents, all on 14 October 2026: the cardholder agreement dated 25 September 2026, the rewards program terms dated 4 March 2026, and Gemini's card and support pages. It is not a recommendation to apply. It records what the documents commit Gemini and WebBank to.

The APRs move with the Prime Rate, which the agreement gives as 7.00% on 25 September 2026. WebBank adds a margin of 9.74% to 27.74% for purchases, 22.74% for cash advances and 26.74% for the penalty rate. Payment is due at least 25 days after each billing cycle closes, and paying the full balance by then avoids interest on purchases. Interest on cash advances starts on the transaction date.
What rewards does the Gemini credit card pay?
| Category | Rate | Cap |
|---|---|---|
| Gas, EV charging, transit, taxis, rideshare | 4% | $300 of spend a month, then 1% |
| Dining | 3% | None stated |
| Groceries | 2% | None stated |
| Everything else | 1% | None stated |
The rates come from Gemini's card page and its support article on reward tiers. The cap refreshes on the 1st of each month. Gemini's older Product Overview support article still says "up to 3% back on dining", which reads as written before the 4% tier; the card page and tiers article are the current figures.
The rewards terms do not print these rates at all. They point to the support article and say rewards "may be subject to monthly, per-billing-cycle, per-category, per-merchant, per-transaction, or other caps." Promotional merchant offers, which the card page calls Vault Rewards, are capped by the terms at 10% "unless otherwise disclosed by Gemini".
Category coding is the merchant's, not Gemini's. The tiers article says rewards follow the merchant category code from the payment processor, and names Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart and Target as stores often not coded as groceries. In-store purchases at a gas station do not earn the 4% rate.
How are the crypto rewards paid?
Into the cardholder's Gemini account, in the crypto chosen. If none is chosen, "you will automatically receive Rewards in bitcoin, unless and until you change your election." The Product Overview lists bitcoin or "more than 40 cryptocurrencies available on Gemini."
Some rewards land at authorization, others when the purchase posts. A return reverses them in dollars: Gemini Constellation "will deduct the original U.S. Dollar amount of Rewards associated with that credit." If later rewards do not cover it, the cardholder can be billed a Rewards Charge, which the terms say "is not a penalty or program fee." The dollar figure is what is clawed back, whatever the coin has done since.
The value of Rewards is subject to market fluctuations.
Rewards also end with the account: "Your ability to participate in the Rewards Program ends when either of your Gemini Accounts is closed."
What can you not use the Gemini credit card for?
Section 3 of the cardholder agreement lists the prohibited uses:
(b) domestic or international gambling purposes, whether online or otherwise, ... (e) for the purpose of funding your Gemini account directly or indirectly, (f) for the purchase of cryptocurrencies
A crypto rewards card that cannot buy crypto is the one dry irony in the file. Breaking the rule puts the cardholder "in default", and the bank "may block such transactions and/or terminate your Account", with the cardholder still liable for the charges. The rewards terms separately exclude casino chips and cryptocurrency from earning rewards. How other card issuers handle crypto purchases is in can you buy crypto with a credit card, and the gambling rules across crypto cards in crypto cards and gambling.
Cash advances and other limits
Cash advances are capped at 10% of the credit limit, and at $1,000 in any one day. The agreement defines them to include wire transfers, money orders, foreign currency, lottery tickets and "casino gaming chips". The fee is $10 or 3%, whichever is greater, and interest runs from the day of the transaction at 29.74%.
Who can apply?
US residents only. The agreement requires residence in the United States at application "and at all times while the Account remains open", with 30 days to report a move abroad. The Product Overview says residents of all 50 states can apply.
What does the arbitration clause do?
Exhibit A sends disputes to arbitration and waives jury trials and class actions, unless the cardholder is a covered borrower under the Military Lending Act or "promptly" rejects the clause by the method in the exhibit. The agreement says the clause binds an applicant "even if you do not use the Account or the Card."
