Two of the fourteen cards on the CryptoGuardz card register prohibit gambling outright in a document the issuer publishes: Crypto.com and the US KAST card. One more, the Coinbase One Card, reserves the right to refuse internet gambling merchants and prices any gambling transaction as a cash advance. Five could not be verified because the terms would not load, and RedotPay, the card with the most searches, names no gambling rule at all.

Every clause below was read on 28 September 2026 and is quoted as written. The full set, with the document each line came from, is on the card register.

Which crypto cards prohibit gambling?

Two outright, and in both cases the wording is sharper outside the bank's own contract than inside it.

Crypto.com is the clearest case of a gap between documents. The US cardholder agreement, which is the contract with Community Federal Savings Bank, says only this:

You agree (i) not to use your Card for illegal gambling or any other illegal purpose;

CRYPTO.COM Prepaid Visa Cardholder Agreement (US), effective 1 September 2026

The Crypto.com help centre goes further: "For compliance reasons, we have restricted the use of our cards for gambling services and cash advances." The One-Time Card section of the US app terms lists "betting/gambling" as a prohibited transaction. A declined casino deposit is what the help centre predicts. The contract alone would not predict it.

Can I use a KAST card at a casino?

Not under the US agreement. Section text, verbatim: "You agree not to use, try to use, or permit use of the Card or Account for any Internet gambling transactions or any other transactions that are illegal or not permitted by us." The next sentence is the one that costs money: "Even if you do, you must still pay us for these transactions."

The non-US KAST agreement, with Troia Corp, is softer. It lists "casino gaming chips" and online betting among cash-like transactions the issuer "may from time to time limit". Same brand, two positions, depending on which agreement the cardholder signed. KAST membership runs from $0 on Standard to $1,000 a year on Premium and $10,000 on Private, according to its help centre. Neither agreement names the issuing bank; both call it "Issuer". Details on the KAST entry.

Does Revolut block casino payments?

Only if the cardholder switches the block on. Revolut's UK help page says the gambling block "is disabled by default" and "will prevent payments to merchants using MCCs linked to gambling". Turning it off "takes up to 48 hours". Then the line that matters most:

If companies use different MCCs to hide their gambling services, the block won't be able to prevent those transactions.

The block reads the merchant category code, not the merchant. It is a tool for a player who wants to stop, and its own page says where it leaks. The Revolut account terms returned a bot challenge and were not read, so any prohibition in the contract itself is not verified. Anyone who wants help stopping will find the helplines on the responsible gambling page.

What do RedotPay's terms say about gambling?

Nothing, in the three documents read: the general card terms, the Hong Kong programme and the Singapore programme. None contains gambling, betting, casino, wager or lottery. That is an absence in the documents, not a permission, and card-network rules still apply to every payment.

The RedotPay terms do reserve one thing worth knowing: which programme a cardholder lands on. "The Group reserves the right, in its absolute sole discretion, to designate you to a specific RedotPay Card under a particular Programme based on factors including, but not limited to, your country of ordinary residence, verification information". The Hong Kong programme describes itself as a line of credit from Red F. Technology Limited, not a prepaid balance. See the RedotPay entry.

What happens on a credit card?

It becomes a cash advance. The Coinbase One Card agreement, issued by First Electronic Bank under an American Express licence, says: "We may prohibit your use of the Card at certain types of merchants, such as internet gambling businesses." It then lists "purchasing lottery tickets, gaming chips (physical or digital), placing racetrack wagers, or engaging in any other gambling-related transactions" as cash advances. Each one costs $10 or 5% of the amount, whichever is greater.

Which cards only ban illegal gambling?

Exodus Card and Plutus. The Exodus Card terms prohibit using the card for "any illegal activity, including without limitation illegal gambling", and separately list "gambling and betting transactions (including lottery tickets and gaming chips)" as earning no rewards. Plutus says users must not "use our Platforms illegally for gambling", and excludes "gambling and lotteries, including the national lottery" from rewards. Whether a given casino is legal where the cardholder lives is a question for local law, not for the card. Casino-side consequences, such as what happens to a balance when ID is demanded, are on KYC on withdrawal.
