What does the CryptoGuardz badge show?

One line per entry: the register status as recorded and the date it was checked, for 92 casino, exchange, wallet and card entries. 37 of them currently show a licence or authorisation not confirmed, an expired licence, an incident or a closure notice. The badge is rebuilt with every deploy and never says trusted, approved or safe.

Every casino, exchange, wallet and card entry has an “Embed this record” section above its sources, with the badge and the HTML for that entry. The HTML is a link to the entry around an image, in this form:

Casino badges read the licence result against the issuing authority’s own register. Exchange badges count the claimed authorisations found in a regulator’s register. Wallet badges count public incidents recorded from primary sources. Card badges report a closure or pause notice first, then whether the issuer is named in the card terms.

What the badge does not say

It is not a rating, a certification or a recommendation, and no entry can buy, request or remove one. A licence found in a register means an authority holds a record; it is not a statement about how the company treats customers. A badge shows the unfavourable status exactly as it shows the favourable one, and a site that embeds it shows what the register shows. The register has no commercial reason to issue a badge and takes no fee for one.
