How to cite an update
Every event has a permanent address: its week page and an anchor, in the form https://cryptoguardz.com/updates/2026-w41/#<event>. The anchor is derived from the entry, the field and the two values, so it does not move when other events are added. Link the permalink, give the date of the update, and name the issuing source it links to.
Example CryptoGuardz, "All British Casino: brand check added", register update of 2026-10-09. https://cryptoguardz.com/updates/2026-w41/#checks-all-british-casino-entry-a44816ec (data CC BY 4.0)
The register data on this page is published under CC BY 4.0. Reuse it, quote it and build on it, with attribution to CryptoGuardz and a link to the event’s permalink. How an event is made
At every build the register files are reduced to a summary of the fields a reader would want to be told about, and that summary is compared with the previous state: the newest committed snapshot, then any later commit to the data, then the files as built. Every difference is an event. The first snapshot is the baseline, and its events are the records as first published: an entry, its licence result, its incidents, its documented contradictions, its authorisations, its closure notices.
An event is dated by the source’s own retrieval date when the document was read again, otherwise by the entry’s last-reviewed date, otherwise by the state it first appears in. No event is entered by hand and none is removed. A change that reverses an earlier one is a second event, so both stay visible. Register-level changes (a section added, a field redefined) are on the change log; our own errors are on corrections.
