Crypto.com review: the documents

This is a review of the documents Crypto.com publishes and of the registers that should list it, not a test of the platform: no account was funded and no withdrawal was run. The binding terms name Foris DAX Limited as the company you contract with, and state no place of incorporation. The record quotes 7 clauses across 6 topics, read 2026-09-28, from 6 sources. Crypto.com has 1 licence found in the ESMA MiCA register, issued by the MFSA to Foris DAX MT Limited, not to Foris DAX Limited, the company in the terms read. A proof of reserves is published and signed by a party outside the company. The terms carry a clause on what happens to customer assets if the company fails, quoted below. Its terms, as read, name no gambling rule. 3 points could not be verified and are listed below.

Is my crypto safe on Crypto.com?

Crypto.com is a custodial exchange: coins on the account are held by the exchange, not by a key you control. What protects them is what the binding terms say about holding customer assets and about the company failing. One clause on holding customer assets is quoted below.

Holding customer assets · 1 of 1Retrieved 2026-09-28
Grant to Crypto.com Subject to clause 5.4, in consideration for your use of the Exchange and its related services and other valuable consideration, you grant Crypto.com and/or its Affiliates (as applicable) the rights to all On-Exchange Assets (subject to limited rights) described in clause 5.2.

Insolvency and bankruptcy language in the terms, verbatim:

Insolvency · 1 of 1Retrieved 2026-09-28
Crypto.com’s ability to meet its contractual obligations in clause 5.2(b) and these Exchange Terms and Conditions (on time or at all) may be impacted by any losses or delays sustained in connection with its holding or use of On-Exchange Assets, amongst other factors. This may result in losses or delays to you. In the worst case, a total loss of On-Exchange Assets may occur.

Proof of reserves, signer and scope are on the full review. A reserve snapshot says nothing about what the exchange owes.

Can Crypto.com freeze my account?

Yes, by its terms. The 2 clauses are quoted as written. Grounds named in the text: its own discretion, with no reason required and a security event or platform incident.

Account freeze · 1 of 2Retrieved 2026-09-28
12.5 Withdrawal or suspension of use of the Exchange We reserve the right to withdraw or suspend your right to use the Exchange and Services at any time without prior notice to or any consent from you and without assigning any reason for that action.

You acknowledge that Crypto.com’s decision to take certain actions, including limiting access to, suspending, or closing your Account for any reason in our sole discretion (even if no Event of Default has occurred and is continuing), may be based on confidential criteria that are essential to Crypto.com’s risk management and security protocols.

The documents searched name no gambling rule; the general ban on unlawful use still applies. The full reading is in section 10 of the review.

Has Crypto.com been hacked or fined?

No hack, fine or regulator action was found for Crypto.com from primary sources in this collection: no company disclosure, no court filing and no regulator notice. That is not proof that none happened. It is the absence of a search result, and a press report is not recorded here until a primary source confirms it.

Crypto.com support and scams

The official domain in the record is crypto.com. Type it yourself rather than following a link from an ad, a search result or a message, and reach support only from inside the account you signed in to there.

Real support never asks for a seed phrase or for remote access to your device. An exchange account is opened with a login, not a recovery phrase, so a request for one is a request for a wallet you hold elsewhere. A request to install a screen-sharing or remote-desktop app hands the caller your signed-in session. Either one ends the conversation.

If money has already gone, the next message offering to get it back is the commonest second loss. The FBI, the FTC, the CFTC and the UK FCA have each published warnings about it, quoted on crypto scam recovery: what is real.

What we could not verify

The gaps in this record, as the record states them. A point listed here was looked for and not confirmed; it is neither a finding for Crypto.com nor against it.

  • The place of incorporation and company number of Foris DAX Limited. The terms state neither.
  • Any proof of reserves after 7 December 2022. None is published on the page.
  • Whether a given user's assets are held under clause 5.4 rather than clause 5.1. The terms say clause 5.4 applies where special safekeeping rules apply and do not list those jurisdictions.
