Cash App sends to any valid address format, Taproot included. Lightning invoices can be paid from the same Send screen.

What are Cash App's bitcoin withdrawal fees and speeds?

SpeedStated timeFeeMinimum
Standard24 hours or lessFree0.001 BTC
Rush2 hours or lessNetwork fee plus up to $20.00005 BTC
Priority10 minutes or lessNetwork fee plus up to $30.00005 BTC
LightningAlmost instantNo fee from bitcoin balance; 0.9% if funded from Cash balanceNot disclosed

The fees and times are from the Bitcoin Pricing article; the minimums from the Withdrawals article, which agrees with the pricing page's "₿100,000" sats minimum for Standard. Cash App's Bitcoin Disclosures, also recorded on the Cash App entry, give "a ₿5,000 minimum for on-chain withdrawals", the same as 0.00005 BTC.

The network part is estimated when the order is placed. The pricing page says Cash App "may charge you more than the estimated network fees for your transaction to account for periods of volatility." The total is shown on the confirmation screen before sending.

What is the Cash App bitcoin withdrawal limit?

Cash App does not print a figure. The Sending and Receiving Bitcoin article says limits "are rolling and account for any consecutive 1 day, 7 day period, or 30 day period, and limits reset at the top of the next hour", and that the figures are shown in the app under Profile, then Limits. The one number the help pages do give is for Lightning: up to $999 sent or received every 7 days. A dollar cap for on-chain withdrawals is not disclosed in the pages read.

Two other things can stop a withdrawal. Bitcoin bought with money from an outside bank account cannot leave until the transfer settles; the Terms of Service put that hold at "at least 7 days and in some cases as much as 60 days." And Cash App's scam page says it may "block risky payments" to addresses it links to bad actors.

How do you convert bitcoin to cash on Cash App?

Sell it. The Selling Bitcoin article: Money tab, Bitcoin tile, Sell, select an amount, then PIN or Touch ID and Confirm. The fee is the same sliding scale as for buying:

A spread of 0% to 0.75% sits inside the quoted price, per the pricing page. A separate Bitcoin Spread article gives the range as 0% to 1%. The confirmation screen shows the rate used.

Selling $300 of bitcoin therefore costs a $6 fee plus up to $2.25 of spread at the 0.75% figure. Selling $2,500 costs no fee, only the spread.

How long until the dollars reach a bank?

The Withdrawal Transfer Speed Options article sets two choices for moving a Cash balance out. Standard transfers are free and usually arrive within 1 to 3 business days. Instant transfers go to a linked debit card for a 0.5% to 2.5% fee, minimum $0.25 to $1, maximum $75, shown before confirming.

Lightning has one more route. With Receive Lightning as dollars switched on, incoming Lightning payments land as USD for a 0.9% service fee.

What tax form does a sale trigger?

A sale produces an IRS Form 1099-DA, sent by 15 February the next year. The taxes article says it shows net proceeds without cost basis for 2025 sales, and "will not include any peer-to-peer transactions," including those with an external wallet. This is not tax advice.

Sending Cash App bitcoin to a casino

Cash App's Acceptable Use Policy, also recorded on the Cash App entry, lists gambling under "What's not allowed", except legal activity with merchants Block and its banks approve, and lets Cash App suspend an account "at any time without notice." A direct send from Cash App to a casino address runs into that clause. The wider pattern is in deposits from an exchange to a casino, and the self-custody route in the wallet safety checklist.

If a withdrawal went to a scammer, Cash App says "all on-chain payments are final." The legitimate routes are on the scam recovery page.
